Nurturing ourselves from Winter to Spring

Well ………….. Here we go Term 3

Will we open and be asked to close? Maybe, maybe not! But hey let’s give it a go.

Our yoga practice prepares us for the times that life throws us curve balls. Doesn’t matter what happens outside of us, we know home is right here in the present moment. That’s why we practice. Never perfect. Taking all the opportunities that arise to find moments of being present. Honouring and nurturing ourselves into a more peaceful sense of being.

Winter is the season that asks us to become a little more Yin. Shorter, colder days and darker, longer nights. An opportunity to withdraw a little into ourselves, a time for reflection of where we have been. An opportunity to delve a little deeper into ourselves, and create new ideas, new pathways, choosing which road we are taking forward.

Winter connects us with the element of water, the most nourishing and essential substance of life. It is the season for opening the Svadhisthana chakra to boost our creativity, manifesting desires and confidence. Preparing us for Spring when the seeds of our intentions that are formed over Winter burst into growth.

So come with me, a little Winter nurturing on the mat……. let’s test the theory, create a practice and see what unfolds

Term 3 will be a definite Move and Restore Monday 6pm. And I am proposing a Yin Wednesday 6pm as long as there is enough commitment to proceed.
