Hello 2022
Well 2022 has started with a bang, my workplace has declared a Code Brown (lay term shit has hit the fan).
As a nurse I personally feel that this is my last opportunity to support my patients and colleagues before I change my tempo and move to Alice Springs for 6 months to be with my family. After 2 long years of separation due to the pandemic, and a grand daughter I am yet to meet, I say bring on April and Alice.
As always I have enjoyed teaching Yoga on the River with Barwon Heads Yoga (Rache Hely) covering so she can be in her other office at 13th Beach, slipping in a surf a couple of mornings a week as the sun comes up. I love this time of year for the new people I meet, the returned yogis of summers gone by, and the opportunity be in nature with all that a Victorian Summer throws at us.
We will continue Yoga on the River through until Labour Day weekend.
As for Yoga with Donna Term 1 2022 I have chosen not to teach in the studio in Ocean Grove. Unfortunately, but in honour of what I teach “nurturing ourselves”, I need to conserve my energy for working as a nurse, and nurturing myself in my own practice.
How……. I’ve been teaching in the outdoors by the water, I am in the middle of a 6 week beginners yoga course, going back to basics to learn from a tantric yoga perspective, refreshing my knowledge of the building blocks of postures, indulging in some old and new aspects of philosophy. Taking the time in moments of quietness to sit on the beach and watch the waves roll in, and lots of dog patting :)
So whilst yet again this year will look different, Yoga with Donna will travel with me to the NT where I hope to meet lots of new people, lay down my autumn and winter roots, and reconnect with my kids. Home in time for Yoga in Ocean Grove in the Spring.
So wherever you are in 2022 I hope to connect, reconnect and share our love of yoga
